Yusra Is a Refugee from Syria, Yusra and her elder sister fled the Syria war and then sat off to find safety in Europe. They travelled through Lebanon to Turkey before departing for Greece in an dinghy which was overcrowded, they jumped on a boat because the war was still happening 15 minutes into the sea crossing he engine failed. Yusra and her sister didn't want any of their fellow passengers to drown so they jumped into the waves and jumped for 2 or 3 hours in an open water to stop their dinghy from inflating, now she is an Olympic swimmer, she aims to compete in the Olympic games in Tokyo 2020.

You should go to Tonga, because the pineapples in Tonga are very delicious and juicy, you should also go to Tonga is because in Tonga everyone is very friendly to each other. In Tonga it is a small village so you can just walk to the shops, if you are in Tonga you should go to the beach because it is very hot in Tonga!. If you are a person who likes to dance around and sit on a car while driving Tonga is there for you.

                                                       Being Brave   

The time that I was brave is when my grandma passed away, my siblings and I were at school we got told by the teacher that we are going home.
When we went outside of the school my niece's mum came to pick us up I wasn't expecting her to pick us up, we asked her why we got picked up early then she told us that our grandma have passed away. When I went went into the car my brother and I started bursting into tears,
 Once I came into the house I went through the kitchen to get to the lounge when I saw that my whole family were around my grandma crying I also started to cry.
When I felt her she was really cold so that meant she wasn't breathing...

My family comes from Tonga the part of Tonga that my family comes from is Tonga Tapu. The thing that is important or special about my family is being with my family, being with my family is important and special. I speak two different languages I speak English and Tongan.

  I would like some water to keep me hydrated,
 I would bring me some fruits to keep me healthy,
I would bring fast food because it is just so delicious,
I would bring a pie to keep my taste buds full of food because a pie makes me full. 
I would bring candy because candy keeps my mouth full of sweets,
I would bring mint so my breath doesn't stink.
 I would bring corn because vegetables are very good for our bodies.
I would bring chop suey because I don't really like chop suey but if I bring it with me I might get used to chop suey,
I would bring bread because if we don't have any food we will always eat bread,
 I would bring read sausages because we will always have red sausages for dinner.

My amazing Weekends

                                         The weekends

On the weekend, my dad, Laki, Christopher,Michael and I went to the park next to Countdown in Mt Wellington. We were playing cricket and touch.

First we were playing Cricket. I was the bater and Laki was the thrower Laki wasn’t really good at throwing the ball so my  dad helped him throw the ball.

We got tired of playing Cricket so we played touch. Then it rained, we were still playing touch then we stopped because it started raining hard.

We started playing touch when it finished raining. My dad was tired so he went and sat down and watched us play touch.

Michael and I were tired of playing touch, so we decided to play Cricket. Michael and I were playing Cricket while Christopher and Laki was playing touch.

When Christopher and Laki were done playing touch Michael and I stopped playing Cricket as well. Then we all told my that we stopped playing touch and Cricket, then we all went up the hill and went in the car to go home.

Soul friends mass 2019

 Soul friends Mass

On Friday , 

The whole school went to the church for Soul Friends mass ,
my soul friend was Aaliyah , we were waiting until everyone came inside.
When everyone came inside Angeline and Meela
did a speech.
After the speech, we sang a song it was called 
“light a candle.'' After the song Father started talking. 

When Father finished talking we sang another
song and then Sateki ,
Jonah and Father Felise did our Soul Friends facing.
We had to face our Soul Friends ,
they had to ask us questions about our Soul Friends
and we had to say “yes I will”. 

Some students with their Soul Friends then went up
and said prayers of the Faithful.
After that we sang another song later on
Trina and her Soul Friend Melie went and did the offertory ,
and took up the bread and the wine.

Then we all went up and I put my hands across my chest
because I haven’t done my Holy Communion. 

When the Holy Communion was finished
Mr Coakley went up and announced the people who were being the new leaders of
2019. One of them was my brother Laki and
I was very proud of him.

Afterwards everyone sat down,
Father did the ending prayer.
`` When he finished the prayer
he went and stood in a line with
some
other people and walked down the aisle.
We sang a song while
they were walking.

This is when the mass finished and everyone
left the church to go for shared lunch. 

The Soul Friends mass was very fun and
I will make sure to help my Soul Friend Aaliyah.

When we went outside a lot  of people brought junk food
Aaliyah and I went to Lilly and Briana and Ana
we also went to Fiapo and Melie and Mele.

We all brought junk food Aaliyah brought cookies and juice  brought chips and two drinks
it was going to be for Aaliyah but she already had
a drink so I gave it to Ana.

When we were done we all went back to
our normal classes and did our learning.

My soul friend mass

On Friday April 19  St Pius X Catholic School went to St Pius X Catholic School Church. Then Laki was doing the introduction his soul friends his soul friends was Alekisio, Lucas. 

Then they were playing song the song were we will com into the house of god,
Alleluia. Then Aaliyah and Palu, Lisiate and I went up and did our reading.
After we did another song it was Alleluia then we sat down then father was reading.

 Then the prayers of the faithful went up the first ones was Christopher and Vincent,
Sarah and Melenaite, Lillie and Briana and Ana, Telesia and Maraia,
Diannie Audrey and Stella.

Then we sang  songs then father got the bread and wine and broke the
bread and some bread to
Mr. Coakley and wine after.
The first row went up and ate and drank the bread some people put their arms crossed.

The New School

Moala: 

My first week was good.
I was excited to see the new school because of the rooms.
I didn’t know what it would look like so I was surprised when
I saw that there were no walls separating the classes,
it was one big space! 

The first thing I did when I came into our new learning space was check out all the new things around me. I really enjoy being here, but I miss my old school sometimes.

Hello Room 7,

It’s me Moala from Rm 3!

I am excited to move to the new school as well.
But we will miss the old memories at the old school. But it was really old,
ugly, leaping roof so that’s why we decided to have a new school.
Our new school looks really good. Rm 7 you are doing a great job on your
movie keep on doing your good learning Rm 7.

Grandma's funeral

               My Grandma’s Funeral

On Wednesday, we went to a building called Vea Funeral Home.
My whole family went with. My cousins, aunties, uncles,
brothers my mum and my dad were there. After that lady came and sat down
on a chair.
She was the fao. The fao is the person who sits next to the person who is dead.

Later on the priest went up in front of everyone and he prayed.
Then he was talking in Tongan. Previously people went up
to my grandma and kissed her.

They were also crying. A lot of people were staying next to her in the coffin.

When they were all done my grandma’s grandchildren and great grandchildren
went up to her and kissed her.
Then everyone sang the last song.

My incredible holiday

On Saturday, my cousins, aunts, uncles,
nieces and  nephews went to a big building.
It was next to the Panmure library. We were talking while
were were walking into the hall. Everyone was putting
the chairs out to sit on. When everyone was there,
a man prayed afterwards. My cousins did a Tongan dance,
using fans.

Our relatives were going up to the stage putting money
onto my cousin’s skin. Her skin was oily. Soon our youth club
went outside and got into the right  order, to do the dance,
on the floor. We couldn’t dance on the stage because the
old people would be tired coming up and down the stairs.

 The name of the song was “Tanu Ne Malama.”
We were using fans in our dance. Our relatives were
coming to us and putting money on us.
Meanwhile a girl from our youth went in front of everyone
and started dancing to the music.
People were putting money onto their bodies then
going to the back and clapping.

Previously another youth member came and performed 
a dance.
Then the girls from our youth went up in front of
everyone and did their dance. The little girls weren't in it,
it was only the big girls. The name of the dance was “Fesi Fohe.” 

Later on the boys from our youth went in front of everyone
and did their boy dance. The name of the dance was
“Pitutaukae.” When they were done,
my brother and I went up in front of everyone
and did our dance.
The name of the dance that we were doing was called,
“Tau Mata Mahina.”
While I was dancing my cousins came up to me and did a haka.

Then our youth went up the stage and did our dance.
The boys were in the middle and the girls were on the sides.
The name of the song was “Akue.”
Near the end of the dance the girls used their fans.

Following this,
my cousin Charlotte went up and did her dance the
song was called “Io,Io,Io Hiva Tonga.
Her friends and relatives went to her and put money on her
when they put the money on her they went to the back
of her and started dancing as well.

When she was finished my youth went in front of everyone
and did their dance. The name of the song is
“Io,Io,Io Hiva Tonga”. Finally, 
our whole youth went up to the stage and did the “Maululu.”
The big kids had to sit on the ground and the little kids had
to stand up.

After that our priest went up and prayed.
After he had finished praying, 
the D.J was playing songs and everyone went up
and started dancing. Then everyone cleaned everything up,
then everybody went outside and got some food and drink
then went home at 9:00.

My bowling experience

                       Bowling

In the holidays my cousins, brother and I went bowling.
My cousin Jade went to pay and find us a spot to bowl.
There were two television one was for the seniors and one for the juniors.
It had our names on it if our name is the first one they go bowling first. 

After that,my cousin Toni gave us two one dollars then we went to go play games.
Then my cousin and I started to share our tickets the games we were playing
was a basketball game and a little ball game.

Then we got our tickets after we had to go and take a photo
and had to go to a lady and give our tickets to her altogether we had seventy five so me

and my cousin brought lollies it was fruit burst and milkshakes.
Then we ate the candies and then we went to my aunties house.

My cousins had to go to their sister Charlotte’s concert so my cousin and
I went with my brother and cousin.
We went to my aunties house my cousin and I started to
cook eggs then my mom came to pick me up so we could go home.
