R.E - Who is Isaiah

Hi Everyone, Today for R.E I had to make a brief biography about Isaiah. Isaiah is a writer, he also  told the other people to follow God and be prepared for the Messiah to come. Stress Response

Hi Everyone, Todays learning is about stress and how you can overcome some things you get stress about. You can always talk to a person if you are feeling stressed. Stress Response means that when you are stress the brain sends a signal to the body. So it depends how you wanna act when you get that signal. You can get angry you can cry you can do many things. To overcome it you can do some mindfulness breathing.  This Video will help you!

After Fire Questions

Hi everyone, Today for Reading I did another activity but for the actual story. I had to answer some easy questions for the story. I found it easy because since I already read the story I found it easy to answer them. Joe met a friend at the pen her name is Sadia. Sadia told a story to Joe that her parents village was flooded like their house and everything but at the end she said "but they survived". So she said at least they are still alive. Reading - Before you Begin After Fire

Hi Everyone, Today for Reading I read a story called After Fire. Before I get into the activities for the story I did before you begin. The story is about how a a little boy named Joe, he loved animals. A huge fire was at there area. Which created their area to be "ugly". Everything was like brown the hills were brown the trees and grass were dead. Joe wanted the best for his place so he wanted to make a plan. But his mum didn't agree and said "at least we're here". That's what Joe's friend Sadia said. This activity was about stress I had to think about the things I get stress about and how I fix it. Check it out!

                                

P.E - Celebrating me

Hi Everyone, Today I did some P.E but not like sports. Today I went out with my friend Kalila. Kalila and I went outside to the courts and drew myself and added some words on the outside. The 7 words are the things I did during lockdown. After writing the words around my body we went inside and I put the meanings of the words I wrote down. Cybersmart Challenge #23 - Scams and Phishing

Hi Everyone, For todays cybersmart challenge it is about scams and real websites. For this activity I had to think about which website is legit and which one is fake. To figure it out I was given a fake email on my google presentation and then I figured if it was Legit or Fake. I found this quite easy because the fake ones say that their apps are for free so I knew that it was fake. Anways check out my blog!

 

Fraction, Decimal, Percentage Equivalent

Hi Everyone, Today for Maths I had to simplify some fraction and add some percentages. I found this activity surprisingly easy because my teacher has already demonstrated how to simplify fractions. Also adding percentages is just adding some numbers together and that was easy. Check out my work!

 

SPXCS - Back at School!

Hi Everyone, Today St Pius X Catholic School started their first day of school! I didn't really expect us to come back to school at level 3. First off when the bell rang we went downstairs and sat down while our new principal Mr. Mailei welcomed us back to school. 

After that we came back into our learning space and got right into work. We first listened to the song 'Together as one' by Andrew Chinn. Then we wrote on a google drawing about our friends and what we want in our friends. We then read the scripture Mark 1 16:20. In our google drawing we wrote who we were excited to see at school and why. What do you think are the key things to have in friends ? Hi Everyone, Today I did current events. This topic was about Trachilos Footprints. So these scientists found a footprint from over 5.7 million years ago. That footprint was made by a chimpanzee that had human like bones. It was located in Crete, an island in Greece. Find out more on my work!

Burger Model Conclusion

Hi Everyone, this is the second part of the burger model. The conclusion is the last part of the burger model. For the conclusion I just out the last part of what happened during the lolly scramble. Burger Model Introduction

Hi Everyone, During this week we had to write about our Weekends. Since the holidays were Halloween we did a Lolly Scramble. Since Halloween is on a Sunday we did it the day before. Elephant in the room Chp 1-2

Hi Everyone, Today I blogged my Elephant in the room Chapter 1-2. Chapter 1-2 was about How Auntie Lena's house was burnt down so she had to move in with Luke and his mum. Luke thought he was a misfit kid like he was a weird kid. The two chapters were also about how at Auntie Lena's house she had this painting and she thought that, that painting was burnt with the house but she was wrong. Her and Luke went to pick up the painting. The painting was a elephant surrounded by colourful design called a tapestry design. Auntie Lena said that, that painting was good luck and was from her other family members and was passed down to her. Anyways wait until Chapter 3-4 So I can tell you more. Check out my work!

Hi Everyone Today I had to complete 2 Cybersmart challenges. Unfortunately I haven't completed the #20 Cybersmart Challenge. This Cybersmart Challenge is about Commenting on a google doc. For example if you saw your mates google doc about something, and you thought it looked great you can comment on the google doc and tell him/her/them that their google doc looks great! Term 4 - Percentages

Today I was working with a partner Mele. We didn't have to go in partners but we decided to work together. Because one of us would need help , so we could help each other. For the first week of Term 4 , for maths we were learning about Fractions , Decimals , and Percentages. We were counting the shaded parts and the non shaded parts and tuned those into fractions , decimals and percentages. I also did some word problems , Check them out !

Today to start off our day besides read theory and splash learn. We were doing our morning schools. Our morning goals were based at home since we are in lockdown. Narrative Writing Story

                        Narrative Writing

Rose and her family went to the beach. It was the hottest day of the week, maybe the hottest day of the year! Everyone was going to spend their day playing in the water and introducing themselves to the other neighbours. Rose was having a good time playing with her little niece in the sand. When Rose’s little niece said she needed to use the bathroom. Before Rose went she asked her mum, her mum said “yes, but hurry back because we are about to have lunch.”

While Rose was waiting for her niece to use the bathroom everything turned pitch black. Rose woke up at the beach but no one was there. She had a headache so she just lay there. This blurry image of two people like a middle aged couple went to her and helped her up. The couple said that they were Rose’s parents. Rose couldn’t remember much because something hit her head really hard. Since Rose was the wealthiest person in her street the couple knew how to convince her that they were her parents. The couple knew her name and Rose thought they were her actual parents.

Although Rose doesn’t remember, this has happened to her many times before, but it never got this far. You see Rose’s parents are the wealthiest people in her street. Maybe even the whole city.  Many people have wanted to abduct her for a chunk of her family’s fortune.

The couple took really good care of Rose. Until the couple asked about Rose’s bank details. Rose didn’t trust them because she thought that her parents already knew her Bank details. Rose was on her way to school when suddenly this girl came running to Rose and hugged her. Rose was confused why this strange girl hugged her. The girl said she was Rose’s best friend from a long time ago, her name is Ava and she has long ginger hair. Ava said that Rose has been missing for seven months.

Rose was shocked, she explained to Ava about the middle aged couple and about how she woke up at the beach. Ava said a couple kidnapped a child and that child was Rose. When Rose got home from school she decided that she wasn’t going to tell her parents. Before they do something bad to Rose.

Rose decided to search about the missing girl and saw that it was Rose that has been missing. Rose thought of an idea. Rose called the police saying she's been kidnapped then went to her parents and confronted them that she knows she's been kidnapped. Rose’s mum was crying while her dad was making her feel better, when Rose turned her back on them they suddenly took her on the arm and took her to the basement.

While Rose was in the basement tied up she waited to hear the police knock on the door, when finally they knocked. Rose’s mum opened the door and she saw that it was the police and knew that Rose was the one who called them. The police asked if there was a person called Rose there, and of course the mum said no. The police knew she was lying so they burst in and started looking for Rose.

Once the police checked the whole house he went into  the basement and searched for Rose. The police officer saw Rose tied up at the back and untied her. Rose and the police officer went upstairs. Rose saw her fake parents tied up. Rose went with the police officer to go to her parents.

Rose’s real parents were very happy to see Rose. Since it has been happening for a lot of time, they decided to move to another country and change their names. Dye their hair to make them look so different. They also made sure no one knew they were rich.

When we do something nice for someone else, be it a friend, colleague or stranger, not only does it make them feel good, it gives our wellbeing a boost in return. Whether it’s a big gesture or just a smile, everyone has a little act of kindness to offer. Think about someone who might need some extra support right now, because today is all about giving: our time, our kindness, our aroha, our kōrero, to others.

Today I had to do something kind to someone. I decided to do something kind to my mum. My mum is always kind to me. My mum ordered me some clothes. I gave her a hug because I was very grateful for what she did to me. I was also very happy because she ordered me something without me knowing so she added an extra thing for me and I am very grateful that my mum has brought me clothes. In result I gave her a loving hug.

Did you Know that the Te Whare Tapa Wha has four dimensions ?

Well if you didn’t know it does. The four dimensions are taha tinana (physical wellbeing), taha hinengaro (mental wellbeing), taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing), and taha whanau (family wellbeing). 

The four dimensions grew by SIr Mason in 1984. Taha means the people we care about and those that always make us feel comfortable.

Catholics School Day

 Catholics School Day is when Catholic schools get up together. They just celebrate that they are catholic and just spend time together. Since we are in lockdown we cannot spend the time together with St Michael's and St Ignatius. So my school and I just had a whole school meeting and was watching what Bishop Michael Say. Unfortunately I cannot see what he said because it is restricted for me. We even had prayers of the faithful which were Everly, Isitolo, Callen, Afonsus, and Pauline. We were also listening to a song thats called 'Final Celebration Song' Final Celebration Song. Take a look at our slides !

Chinese Name - Facts

Today we've been learning about the Chinese alphabet. We learnt to spell our name in Chinese. It was really fun learning the alphabet of China. It was also very difficult to understand what it was but thankfully it showed translation So I understood it. If you would like to know some facts about China check out my work !

Mental Health Awareness Week

This week is Mental Health Awareness week. This week it is all about taking care of our health. Mental health is an illness and can be debilitating for lots of people. Some times we can't control or explain our thoughts, feelings or emotions. Some ways we can help our mental health is by going outside, taking a walk, talk with a friend, to take time to yourself, playing outside with our brother and sisters, going to sleep early and doing a little bit of fitness. Today is Rātu or Tuesday.

Get outside in nature with someone / E puta ki te taiao

 It’s often the little things that bring us joy. The singing birds, the grass beneath our feet, the wind on our faces. Kōrero doesn’t have to happen indoors. Today we encourage you to get outside in nature with someone else. Take a moment to chat about the things that support your wellbeing and appreciate the beauty around you. You might be surprised by what you notice!

I can see the fresh green taros underneath this long huge green net, the blue bright sky, the huge trees near my house, the white big air conditioning unit, the long hard fence, the wide clear windows, and the long hard battle ropes.

I can feel the hard feeling of the wooden fence, I can feel the cold air going down my spine, I can feel the hard ground and the soft grass, I can feel the porch, my feet pressing down on the hard porch.

I can smell the nice fresh air, I can smell how fresh my dad’s taros and the fresh grass because it has been mowed recently.

My Birthday Anthems

Hi Everyone, My class and I were learning how our Chinese Zodiac Signs, By using this site Chinese Zodiac. To use that app you have to look for your birthday and find out what animal you are. To find out how old you are in days, months, and weeks check out this site CLICK ME. We also had to find out the number 1 song on our birth year. So I was born in 2011 so I need to find out the number one song in 2011 then keep going until it hits 2021 because that is the year we are in. Its not just your birth year it has to be your full birthday, like the 6th of July. Check out my Work !

For Maths I did another Activity about Money Math. It was like the same activity as the other money math but this one was a bit harder than the other one. Earths Layers

Hi Everyone today for Work My teacher gave us three things to draw. One of them were easy, medium, and hard. I decided to just go easy and drew the easy one. Obviously it was easy, I really enjoyed drawing but the sad thing is that I couldn't find my colour pencils or felts so I could only colour in one thing :(

In this Article Whale Origins pg.26, The Main person or group of people is the extinct whale that was here over 30 million years ago. The Key thing about the news article was telling us some things about whales like the first whales that were first born. Describing them. This event took place in the sea where all the whales live. This event took place over 30 million years ago where those whales were still here on earth, those whales were here before dinosaurs and humans.

Money Math - Working out the change

Today for math I had to work out the change for some people. This was pretty difficult for me so I don't know if i got the answers right. It was pretty easy in the begging but then it got quite hard when it got to the end. But I got to the end and finally finished. Tectonic Plates Moving - Transform

Hi Everyone, Today for my work we had to make a animation about one of the tectonic plate boundaries. I chose to do the Transform boundary because I find it interesting. The animation was really easy to do because all I had to do was make my own transform boundary then duplicate the slide and group it together so it stays the same. Anyways check out my animation!

Ko Te Awe E Maria - Hail Mary

Today for Maori Language My Teacher gave us some slides of people singing Maori songs. I really enjoyed watching them because I like their beat and I also like how the people who sang E Maria harmonised and I enjoyed that. I had to screencastify the Maori Hail Mary while Saying it. Check it out!

Today for R.E or maybe Maori we did this action for a prayer. We learnt this before lockdown so I didn't really think it was hard to do and also because my teacher friend recorded herself doing the actions. Learning the words was pretty hard I still don't know it by heart. But I am pretty sure that I will get it some time. I recorded myself doing the actions to it. I was also saying the words. Māori - Afed Māori Game

Today For Māori I was playing a Māori Game called Afed. I really enjoy playing Afed because it is really easy and I could also learn another language and also because Maori is similar to my own language. So I would be able to understand it. Today for R.E My Class and I were learning about Perceiving the intentions of others. On a certain sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there whose right hand was withered. P.E - Health and Workout No.4

Todays P.E activity was to create your own eye patch and do some activities. I found it difficult to find a way how to create my own eye patch but it worked Instead of actually making one I decided to just get something without having to make it. Using one of my coats I used its lace to wrap it around my head to think it is a eye patch. My Last Activity which was drawing, I thought it was going to be a hard activity but it was actually pretty easy but I still gave it a shot. Again I couldn't Publish my Video So I just had to screencastify it. (by the way now I have 16 points)

P.E - Health and Workout Coordination Challenges

Yesterday for P.E I did some coordination challenges. I already knew some of them which made it easier for me to do. The first one which is opposing arm swings was pretty hard because it did look confusing but I got the hang of it. I don't think I did it correctly because my arm didn't fully swing to the back. The rest of the challenges were pretty easy. The last one which was the Thumb/Pinky trick was the easiest However I took many shots to do it. I had to screencastify it because I couldn't publish it.

P.E - Health And Workout Challenge

Today I did two challenges to earn points now I've got 14 points. I had to stack some items up. To make it even more a challenge I added for more items so altogether I stacked eight items. It was really difficult to stack them I tried to do biggest first then the smallest item. I was really picky about the items I chose because I would know which one is easier .

P.E - Health and Workout No.2

Hey Everyone , another activity for today. My friend and I Maraia decided that we should do the limb deficiency. So I had to tape my right hand because I always use that hand and do some daily stuff without my right hand. I found this kinda easy but when I was peeling the banana I had to use my teeth to pull it down and it tasted gross. The second thing I tried to do was open a bottle, Overall it was pretty easy because I got to use my left hand if I needed help.

Moala - Ordering Decimals from smallest to largest

Today for maths my teacher decided that we were gonna do decimals instead of fractions. The first activity for Decimals was to Order them from smallest to largest. It might look difficult sorry I didn't do it in a easier way where you could read it but I found it easy. To help me order the decimals I used a place value chart which I used lat year but it was still helpful.

PE - Health and Workout

Today for P.E My class and I were challenged to do some activities based on the Paralympics. I tried to get more point by doing doing activities thats worth four points instead of doing one I decided to o two because why not. The first activity was to run indoors or outdoors for the age you are right now. I am ten years old so I have to run 10 minutes. The second activity was to ask someone to pick four random items and make a game or do something with it. Instead of asking my brother to pick four random items for me I asked my mum because they were too busy playing outside.

Mele, Maraia, Moala, Ana and Ofa What is Earth Science

One Week Ago My group and I Mele, Maraia, Ana, Ofa and I were learning about Earth Science. We learnt nine topics about Earth Science. The nine topics were The Solar System, Weather and Water Cycle, Sedimentary Rocks, Igneous and Metamorphic Rocks/the pet Rocks Songs, Mineralogy, Volcanoes, Plate Tectonics, weather and Erosion, Energy and Resources. I chose Weather and Water Cycle and Weather and Erosion. I found this really easy because I got all of the information I needed from the b=video I watched and they explained it really good so I understood it.

Today for Inquiry my class and I were learning about the Tokyo Paralympics 1964 and 2020. We had to watch two videos about the Paralympics 1964 and one video about Paralympics 2020. We had to compare them both. My teacher gave us some questions for us to answer, like about the disabled people that competed in the Tokyo Paralympics 1964 and 2020.

Read Theory Activity - Materials

Today for Reading I had to do 5 Reading Activities I then had to choose one of the activities I chose Materials because it was very interesting. I didn't know that helmet's are made of plastic. I got a decent score on Read Theory Check it out!

Paralympics Games Toyko 2020

Hi Everyone, Today for Learning we were writing down 5 interesting facts about Japan. Also talking about the Paralympics. The Paralympics are disabled people that play sports. I learnt the Concepts and Definition about the Paralympic Games. One that stood out to me was Inclusion, the reason why Inclusion stood out to me is because every should be treated equally instead of differently. Also that everyone should be included in all the sports no matter who you are.

Lockdown Art 2021

Hi Everyone, Today for my learning my teacher decided that we should do some art during lockdown. Today's Art was fun because we got to draw a 3D Cube. Drawing the 3D cube was pretty easy but I had to try and keep the lines staright which I managed to do. The hardest pit of drawing the 3D cube was outlining it because whenever I went off the line I would have to try and do something to fix it because normally I would just rub it but since it was pen I couldn't.

Today for Inquiry we had to pair up and make a Graffiti page about Earth Science. My partner was Ana. We didn't put much pictures but I am kind of glad we didn't because it looks better with just one picture. I found this easy because all we had to do was just add words that were relatable to Earth Science.

Ko Wai? Who Is?

Hi Everyone my class and I have been learning a lot of Maori. We also learnt how to ask people who they're mums, dads, sisters, brothers, and grandparents we had to pick a partner so we could talk to each other to ask each other who their families are I chose Ana because she would be easy because I am her cousin. Learning the Māori words because I would get confused on which one is which.

Maths Term 3 2021

Today for Maths my activity as too change an Improper fraction into a mixed fraction then a mixed fraction to a improper fraction. I found changing a mixed fraction to a improper fraction easy because for an example I had to do 5 4/5 all I have to do is times the denominator which is the bottom number of the fraction to the whole fraction then I get my answer which is 29.

The Improper Fraction was also easy but not as easy as changing the Mixed fraction to a improper fraction

Maths Starters - Changing a improper fraction to a mixed fraction

Yesterday for our maths starters we had to explain how to change a improper fraction into a mixed fraction. I found this really easy because I've already done this. Here is a exmaple colour 6/4 and 1/4 to make it easier you could draw maybe a circle a retangle but there has to be four equal shapes in it. You first colour 6/4 since there is only 4 in one of your shape you colour two more in the others shape and there you've done 6/4 so now you have to colour one more square in another colour to not get confused!

Pacific and Native Plant Presentation

Last week Twp Whanau (Te Wairua Pakiki) presented our Native and Pacific plants to Twp 8, Takiritia 1 2 and 3, we also presented to Dr. Jannie Van Hees.  First up were the Kauri Tree, each group chose to either do a rap/song/poem a presentation a movie or a maybe a animation. The Kauri tree people who were Josaia, Manny, Aniseko and Aston chose to do a rap. Their rap was awesome! Dereon and his group was nexted they did the Rimu Tree. After the Rimu tree people did their presentation it was the Puriri Tree Nasili and his group chose to do a movie the movie looked Great!

After the Puriri tree was the Totara Tree people Solomone's group chose to do a song about the Totara tree and it was really good!

Next up were Vaka and Esau's group they did the Ti Kōuka they also did a presentation they pretended they were the part of the tree like the leaves they were imagining they were the tree.

After the Ti Kōuka people were the KawaKawa people they did a poem and a presentation which look great!

Lastly for the Native Tree people were the Kanuka and Manuka people which was my group!

The reason why we did two trees was because they looked exactly a like so we did the similarities and the differences.

Sadly thats not the ending the Pacific Tree people are left. The first people to present their Pacific Plant were the Kava people which was Amihuti's group. The Kava people did a movie which looked really cool! Next was the Heilala people which was Aurora's group they also gave Dr. Jannie a Heilala and placed it around her neck. At the end Alfonsus made a poem about the Heilala.

Then it was the Ngatae and Hiapo people!

Lalala Shakira Footsteps #2

On Friday Twp 4, 6 and 8 went to the hall because we had Footsteps Dancing. Last Week Friday we learnt the dance Let's Go! This is we learnt Lalala By Shakira. Shakira is a African Singer but if from Colombia! 

In Footsteps Dancing we learnt new Dancing Elements which were Isolation and Tempo!

The Feast of Transfiguration

Hey Everyone, Today for R.E we were learning about the Transfiguration about Jesus. The meaning of Transfiguration is that is it a religious context that is Experienced of momentary divine radiance.
