Using Place Value to Solve Multiplication

Today for Maths my class and I did some activities about using Place Value to Solve Multiplication. Here is one of the equations. 123 x 4 = 

I used Place Value to solve this problem. 

First I split 123 into 100's 10's and 1's and times then by 4 when I get my answer I add them altogether and that's my answer.

Maths Starters and Maths Activity

Today for maths we did Place Value Strategy again. 

Example:

268 + 329 =

300 + 200 = 500

60 + 20 = 80

9 + 8 = 17

Add all the totals

500 + 80 + 17 = 597

that is the answer.

300 and 200 are the hundreds from 268 and  329

60 and 20 are the ten from 268 and 329

9 and 8 are the ones from 268 and 329.

Today in maths we are learning to solve addition and subtraction using Place Value and Reversibility. I first started off with solving the problem after I finished solving the problem I did a screencastify.
